Let's face it - there wasn't a heck of a lot to laugh at this year, and Danny sure relieved some tension? In spite of his moronic attack on Murphy Brown, he was a guy it was hard to dislike - laugh at yes, but dislike never! The "Aw Gee Mom! Can't he stay a little longer?" Award: JOHNNY CARSON Whether you liked Johnny or not, whether you like Jay Leno or not ... Johnny Carson WAS The Tonight Show. He was an American Institution in his own right, and tears were brought to so many of us when he retired. I think we sort of thought of him as immortal, and when HE retired, we all realized how old we were getting, and that everything must eventually end. The "Quitters Never Win ... " Award: ROSS PEROT He had it all & lost it all. What more can we say?
